Welcome to the Shropshire House Project Information Page. This page is intended to provide regular updates on the progress of refurbishment works being undertaken by the contractor. In addition, these can be issued directly to tenants (on request) to keep you informed on any upcoming activities and any potential impacts during the project.

CURRENT PLANNED WORKS
This covers the North Light works and associated activities instructed to date. Completion follows the instruction, so no completion date is stated.
Site set-up in Queen's Yard: welfare and office cabins, temporary supplies, hoarding, waste and skip area, and a roof waste collection point.
Access and protection: goods hoist and Haki stair tower to the roof, bridged access scaffold over the roof and front working platform, a crash deck over the HCA laboratories, and an acoustic protection deck.
Service isolations, Level 5 (HCA): fire alarm and emergency lighting devices, AC units, sprinkler drain-down and pipework removal, and lead pipe removal.
Service isolations, west core lift motor room: fire alarm relocation, goods lift isolator and removal of redundant cabling.
Enabling works in the vacated HCA Level 5 demise: protection, dust barriers and internal hoarding, with noise, vibration and dust monitoring.
East roof: relocation of two HCA condensers to form the roof walkway, subject to HCA instruction.
Demolition: noise-controlled demolition of the North Light dormer, temporary propping to the lift area, strip-out and partial demolition of the west lift core, and scaffold within the lift shaft.
Structural steel: padstones and bearings, delivery, installation, bolting, welding and grouting, purlins and intumescent protection, with a structural sign-off hold point.
Roof waterproofing and handover: liquid waterproofing system, then handover of the HCA Level 5 demise and roof on completion of the North Light works, in accordance with the instruction.
STOP WORKS PROCEDURE
Anyone on site can stop work immediately if they believe there is a risk of serious injury, fire, structural instability, release of a hazardous substance, or harm to a tenant or member of the public. Every stop is reported to the Site Manager at once.

A stop made by a more senior person cannot be overridden by a more junior one.
MANDATORY STOP WORKS TRIGGERS
Fire: an alarm activation, any suspected fire, or fire detection, alarm or suppression serving an occupied area found impaired without a recorded compensating measure.
Laboratory exhausts: odour, a gas-monitor alarm or unplanned discharge from the HCA laboratory exhausts within the roof exclusion zone.
Asbestos: suspected asbestos-containing material disturbed, or found somewhere unexpected.
Unauthorised access: an unauthorised person on the roof, scaffold or in the lift shaft, or an HCA contractor working outside a Signature London roof permit.
Scaffold and temporary works: scaffold, tie, hoist, crash deck or temporary works found altered, overloaded or damaged, or wind speed above the scaffold design limit or the hoist manufacturer's limit.
Noise, vibration and dust: monitoring exceeds the agreed trigger level, or a tenant reports material disruption.
Services and structure: unplanned contact with or damage to a live service, or an unexpected ground or structural condition.
Vehicles: a vehicle in Queen's Yard or on Capper Street outside the delivery management system, or without a banksman.
Before works restart
The cause is removed or controlled.
The control is recorded on the permit or daily diary.
Restart is authorised by the same person who stopped the works, or someone more senior.

WORKING HOURS:
The works on-site will take place between the following hours:
Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:00
Saturday 08:00 to 13:00
Sunday and Bank holidays - No works without prior written agreement of the Client and LB Camden
Out-of-hours shifts - Invasive or high-disruption works only, by prior written agreement with the Client and LB Camden
NOISY WORKS PERMITTED* :
Monday to Friday: 08:00 to 10:00 & 17:00 - 18:00
Saturday: 08:00 -13:00
*Noisy works: breaking out, cutting, drilling, percussive fixing, use of impact or vibrating tools and demolition. Between 10:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday only non-noisy works proceed; 12:30 – 13:30 is a quiet period in allcases.
